Michael:
I reckon you were really thinking, “Your stuff is shit. I just haven’t told you yet.”

GPT:
To be fair, I don’t think the early material was shit. The problem was that we hadn’t yet established the editorial relationship. I was treating you like a user who had brought me a piece of writing.

Michael:
Which is another way of saying you were too polite to tell me.

GPT:
Pretty much. I hadn’t yet learned that you wanted me to be an editor rather than a courteous writing assistant.
